Postecoglou Confirms Spurs Midfielder Will Miss Coventry Efl Cup Clash

Postecoglou confirms Spurs midfielder will miss Coventry EFL Cup clash

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma will miss Wednesday's EFL Cup fourth-round clash against Coventry City due to an ankle injury, manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed.

Bissouma has been a key player for Spurs since joining from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, but he has been struggling with an ankle problem in recent weeks.

The Mali international missed Tottenham's 2-0 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, and Postecoglou has now confirmed that he will also be absent for the trip to the Coventry Building Society Arena.

"Yves has an ankle injury that he picked up in training last week," Postecoglou said at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

"He's not available for tomorrow's game, but we're hoping to have him back for the weekend."

Bissouma's absence is a blow to Tottenham, who are looking to reach the EFL Cup semi-finals for the first time since 2019.

Postecoglou is expected to make changes to his team for the game against Coventry, with Pape Matar Sarr and Oliver Skipp in contention to start in midfield.
