Lugano back on top after win in Lausanne

Lugano wins 4-1 in Lausanne

Lausanne drops to third place

Lugano is back on top of the National League standings after a 4-1 win over Lausanne on Tuesday night. The win was Lugano's third in a row and moved them one point ahead of Davos, who lost 3-2 to ZSC Lions on Tuesday. Lausanne, who had been in first place since last week, dropped to third place with the loss. Lugano got off to a fast start, scoring two goals in the first period on a power play in the 8th minute, and the 15th minute. Lausanne would make it a 2-1 game on the power play just 2 minutes later. After a scoreless second period, Lugano would add two more goals in the third period to seal the win. The win was a big one for Lugano, who are now in a good position to win their first National League title since 2006. For Lausanne, the loss was a disappointing one, but they are still in a good position to make the playoffs. In other National League action on Tuesday, ZSC Lions beat Davos 3-2, and Fribourg-Gottéron beat Ambri-Piotta 4-1.
