Kanye West Sells Malibu Home for $39 Million Despite Demolition Rumors

Home Stripped of Architectural Significance

Buyer Found After Controversial Renovations

After demolishing significant portions of a beachfront Malibu home designed by renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando, musician Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has finally found a buyer for the property. Listed for $39 million, the home has undergone extensive renovations that have stripped it of its original architectural significance.

West purchased the concrete beach house in 2021. Shortly after, he began extensive renovations that included removing the home's glass walls, skylights, and concrete details. These changes drew criticism from architectural experts and preservationists, who argued that the renovations compromised the home's unique design and artistic value.

Despite the controversy, West has managed to attract a buyer for the property. The identity of the buyer has not been disclosed, and it remains unclear if they plan to restore the home to its original design or continue with West's renovations.

The sale of the Malibu home is the latest development in West's ongoing real estate ventures. In recent months, he has also sold his Wyoming ranch and purchased a new home in Malibu's exclusive Hidden Hills neighborhood.
