The Naismith Player of the Year award is given to the best women's college basketball player in the country. The award has been given out since 1983, and has been won by some of the biggest names in women's basketball, including Cheryl Miller, Lisa Leslie, and Brittney Griner.

This year's finalists for the Naismith Player of the Year award are:

  • Aliyah Boston, South Carolina
  • Caitlin Clark, Iowa
  • Haley Jones, Stanford
  • Cameron Brink, Stanford
  • Aaliyah Edwards, Kentucky

All of the finalists have had outstanding seasons. Boston is the reigning Naismith Player of the Year, and she has led South Carolina to a 31-2 record this season. Clark is the NCAA's leading scorer, and she has led Iowa to a 26-5 record. Jones is a do-it-all star for Stanford, and she has helped the Cardinal to a 29-3 record. Brink is a force on the defensive end for Stanford, and she has helped the Cardinal to the No. 1 ranking in the country. The winner of the Naismith Player of the Year award will be announced on April 1. The winner will be determined by a vote of the Naismith Awards National Media Panel, which is composed of journalists, coaches, and administrators.
